Lotus diagrams

In the exhibition, we were given a lotus diagram of the key concepts. We thought of a lot of questions about our global issue and we had to put them to the correct concept. That was leading to our lines of inquiry. After we had put all of our questions in the lotus diagram we picked or 3 favourite questions and turned them into a one of inquiry.

6 Word Stories

This week in writer’s workshop, we are learning about six words stories. A six sentence story is where there are six words in a sentence. This story can be sad or happy, depending on what you want to write about. When we started of writing the story, some of us had seven words or 5 words, so we fixed it up by adding words or taking away words. Then we put a background image that fitted the story and printed in out to hang up in the classroom so people could read what we had written.

We’re going on an (Exhibition) Expedition

Our PYP Exhibition sees our Year 5s going on a learning expedition. This time of the year is always busy but has lots of deep learning and out of the box thinking. Our students have chosen issues that are important to them and are in the process of choosing a transdisciplinary theme that suits the approach they would like to take. They are also writing their own central ideas. The first round of reflections discuss these preliminary steps.
